Medical and Pharmaceutical Translation
As a freelance translator, qualified in the field of Medical and Pharmaceutical translation through the Institute of Translation & Interpreting, I have solid experience in translating a wide range of Medical and Pharmaceutical texts from Spanish, Italian and Portuguese into English, examples of which include:
Medical Reports, Discharge Summaries, Clinical Research Papers, Medical Journal Articles, Clinical Trials, Patient Information Leaflets, Patient Billing and Instructions, Medical and Immunisation Records, Informed Consent Forms, Medical Claims, Accident Reports
Since graduating from a Masters in Translation and Interpreting in 2009, I have also been working as as a medical translator and linguist in the field of international medical repatriation. My role involves translating complex medical reports and liaising with doctors in Italy, Spain and Latin America to ensure British patients are brought home safely and appropriately.
If you have recently returned home from abroad and need any medical documentation to be translated for your GP, local authorities, for legal purposes or for your own interest, please contact me. I often translate medical reports for patients who have been hospitalised abroad, particularly in Spain, Italy. Portugal and Central and South America.
The Arts, Media and Tourism
In addition to specialising in Medical and Pharmaceutical translation, I also enjoy translating in the fields of the arts, literature and media. Since 2010, I have regularly translated for the bi-monthly Italian magazine Luce e Design and recently translated an 85,000 word biographical novel about the life of Paul Harris, founder of the Rotary Club. I have also translated artists' biographies and material for exhibitions and galleries.
Other areas of interest are Travel and Tourism, particularly green tourism. During my time as a translator, I have undertaken the translation of specialist tourism brochures and websites. In 2014, I was part of a team of translators involved in the translation of a UNESCO nomination for Man and Biosphere Reserve: Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park. I enjoyed working as part of a team on this geology- and sociology-based translation project and received positive feedback.
Certified Translation (Spanish into English)
As a qualified member of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting (MITI), I am able to produce certified Spanish into English translations using the ITI seal. This is particularly relevant to the translation of certificates (birth, marriage, qualifications, etc.). Translations stamped with the ITI seal are usually accepted by official bodies and government departments around the world.
Professional and Qualified Translators
Unless otherwise agreed, translation requested by translation companies will always be carried out by me. Please see the About page for more information on my translation qualifications and experience.
If you have a large translation project with a tight deadline, Translation Lab also has access to a team of highly-skilled, qualified translators and revisers. Translation Lab guarantees that your translation or revision will only ever be carried out by a qualified and experienced, mother-tongue translator.
Make the right choice and place your translation order with Translation Lab. I endeavour to maintain lasting and fruitful relationships with my clients.
Proofreading of English texts
Even the most diligent writer can make mistakes, which is why getting your documents proofread following translation is so important. Publications that are peppered with errors and typos look unprofessional, cause embarrassment and can lose you real credibility in the face of clients. The savings made through not having your documents proofread will pale in comparison to what you may have to fork out in reprinting costs.
I have successfully proofread PhD theses, websites, job applications, CVs, business correspondence and company literature.
The changes I make to your document can be applied using the track changes option within Word. This shows clearly which sections of a text have been altered. If required, I can provide you with a short report on the quality of the original translation or assignment.
